Burnaby Hats Off Day Show & Shine 2013

Burnaby's Annual Hats Off Day Show & Shine

This years event, organized by Bonnie Game had 66 cars in the show despite the ominous clouds and dark sky. After a brief morning shower the rain stopped and everyone quickly dried off their cars and prepared for the show. The rest of the day was a perfect mix of high cloud and warm weather on the street. At least 10 bands played for the crowd of 40,000 people with great food available from all the local restaurants. The many street performers made for great street entertainment.

Local Canadian Route 66 Association members and past members were in the show. Paul & Judy Dexter came up from Kent Washington despite I5 being closed by the bridge collapse in Burlington. Tevi Smith, Brian & Betty Peters, Rick Locke were in attendance. George Game guided the cars from the staging area to the event area and parked the cars. Past members Jake, Carolyn and Doug Feenstra also attended in their fantastic 1956 Crown Victoria.

This events takes place on Hwy 7, Hastings Street between Gama and Boundary Road in Burnaby BC from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is a give back to the community street fair put on by the local merchants. It takes place on the first week of June every year.

A special thanks to all the volunteers that helped make this a great event.
